oh my god, I think I would barf if I even tried to drink that tofurky drink. But the desert sodas look good. haha, what will Jones think of next.
Even if the soda is vile, the lunchbox is worth the price by itself. God, Tracy, now I want one too!
Was going to order some,Tracy, but the only shipping option they give you is UPS for twice as much as the cost of the gift pack. Something to consider.
That stuff just seems like an insult to vegans....it can't possibly taste good! blech! then again, what do i know, I haven't had soda of any sort in years..but savory soda? double blech! you're a more adventurous woman than I! ;)
Hey, I've been meaning to get back to you and thank you so much for the sodium info on the boullion you use. turns out yours has almost half what the one I was using has. I haven't made it again with less in my version yet, but I'll be sure to check back in when I do as it's such a killer recipe. thanks again!
as for the gluten-free thing...my sis in law has a serious allergy and i always enjoy the challenge to bring something to the family dinenrs that means not only do i get left with potatoes and corn as my opions or foods but also keeps her from diving into the bread basket. it ain't easy! I like to buy store bought millet bread for a bread sub (it's great toasted, so light and crunchy), love brown rice pasta (honestly, i don't notice much different from whole grain pasta with that one, just cook to the tenderness you desire) and when all other attempts at baking fail in the kitchen (for they seem to do that a lot when attempting gluten free recipes) i just bake some oat flour chocolate chip cookies. or Dreena's gluten free ones. both are always a swimming success!
Screw the soda - I want the lunch box. AWESOME!!!
Oh my dog. I tried grass-flavored soda once - not THAT kind of grass - the lawn kind - and it was strange and foul-tasting (I poured most of it out immediately) but it was still an awesome experience because I now I can attest that having tried both, grass-flavored soda tastes worse than worms. I found the soda in a little corner shop in Auckland, NZ, which is where I was living at the time and which has a hige Asian immigrant population - I think it was Korean. I could be wrong about what it was supposed to taste like since none of the packaging was in English and I was going by the pictures on the can. Still! Foul! And hilarious!
Also! Just found your blog and love it - my husband has just gone vegan (although I think we will soon be making exceptions for pastured eggs and humane, sustainable cheddar) and man, there are not a lot of vegan food bloggers out there who ALSO swear a bunch. So thank you, you're SO added to my blogroll now. (Wow, you must be thinking, random internet stranger plans to read my posts on a regular basis. Thrilling!)
And having used up my quota of exclamation points for the 2010, I'll just say thanks again for writing this, since cooking vegan is a fun chalenge but a lot like writing poetry only in sonnet form.
How is the gluten free going? Are you surviving?! Did your hubby's skin stuff clear up?
Hope you are doing well!
Courtney
